The holiday season is always fun in my house. My four kids are running around high on the spirit of the season’s possibilities. Christmas songs are on the radio. And the wrapping paper is everywhere.
Is it the same in your house?
I think now is a great time to print out our Christmas Activity Book for a fun brain workout and a bit of peaceful calm. Wouldn’t that be nice …
And hey! Snap a pic of your kids while they are doing this ebook (or after they finish it), and share it on social media with the hashtag #kidminds for a chance to win free copies of my ebooks I SPY and Mazes for Kids.

But my kids tell me that all the pages are fun! I aim to please ;).
WHAT’S INSIDE THE PRINTABLE CHRISTMAS ACTIVITY BOOK
What do your kids know about Christmas? Who celebrates it? What’s the first place in the world to wake up on Christmas Day? And why were Ancient Romans so fond of abbreviating Christmas into Xmas?
Your kids can find all this out with the first printable in the e-book: All About Christmas.
Christmas Activity Challenge
Can your kids do every activity on the list?
I believe they can!
Most of the activities in the challenge are conveniently included in the printable. Solve Christmas riddles, learn how and when other countries celebrate Christmas, make a pop-card (with the provided template) and Christmas cupcake toppers, and try Christmas-themed creative writing ideas…
Christmas Around the World Geography Game
Did you know that the main Christmas dish is fufu in some countries, and that in other places, they eat fried caterpillars for good luck? Some more fufu? No, thanks, I’m already full of caterpillars!
In Russia, Christmas is not till January. Ethiopians dress in all-white outfits. And in Iceland, it isn’t Santa but naughty Yule lads who climb through the window on Christmas night to leave presents for the kids.
All you need is our printable and a map of the world to play a fun Geography game and learn so much new about life beyond your own country’s borders.
Christmas Scavenger Hunt
Can your kids find everything on the list?
Visual Challenges like this one are good for the brain. They stimulate curiosity, learning, decision-making, problem-solving skills, focus, and concentration.
I tried to only include relatively easy items found in most places that celebrate Christmas, but if you run into some trouble, a few Christmas-themed books from the library will come to the rescue.
All about My Pet Reindeer
We first thought of this idea with our Halloween’s All About My Pet Monster printable, and it was such a huge success that we are bringing it back with the Christmas twist.
Here we invite your child to ponder what kind of reindeer would be a perfect match for his personality. Is his reindeer naughty or nice? What makes him sad? And how can your child make him laugh?
Christmas-themed Language Arts Activities
I don’t know about you, but I’m convinced that the study of spelling, grammar, punctuation, and composition is so much more effective with an engaging theme. And who doesn’t like Christmas?
Even Grinch got on board.
Christmas-themed creative writing ideas, a super exciting crossword puzzle, and word scrambles encourage your kids to think, improving general knowledge, executive function, and working memory.
And you know what? Your kids will be having so much fun, they won’t even know they are doing hard cognitive work.
The answers and solutions are provided for your convenience.
Christmas Art
Here you have coloring pages with a math twist, a handmade Christmas card with science-y pop-up art, and DIY Christmas-themed cupcake toppers (to decorate your cupcakes, of course!).
Art relaxes the brain and helps us step out of ourselves and into the world of possibilities. Purple or teal? Color outside the lines or inside? Keep it or give it to grandma? Decisions… Decisions…
Christmas Riddles & Mazes
Did you know that a solved riddle can calm the mind in the same way as yoga can calm the body? For one, working on a riddle engages both hemispheres: the logical and the creative, giving the brain a real mental workout.
For another, to find the solution, the mind needs to tune out all mental distractions and focus on the task at hand, keeping the focus until the end. In addition, mazes boost spatial skills, visual perception, and rotation. So, improved brain function while having a ton of fun; yep, sign us up!
Would you like to have all of the PRINTABLES on this page? Now you can! You can find all the activities on this page in one convenient PDF. Find it in the Subscribers-only library of resources.
